Small Business Website Design: When someone nearby searches for what you do, be the answer.

Your website should turn a nearby search into a call, a WhatsApp message or a visit. 7 Islets starts with how your customers decide, then designs and builds a site that answers them on a phone, and keeps it current as your business changes. Consultant-led design, then a fast, reviewed build.

Who looks you up

What should a small business website include?

Four kinds of people look you up, usually on a phone. Each one is deciding something different.

Visitor 1

Someone nearby, searching now

They want to know if you do what they need, where you are and whether you are open. Put the service, the area, today's timings and a call or WhatsApp button where the thumb lands first.

Visitor 2

A returning customer

They are checking something specific: a menu, a price list, a batch timing or a new service. Keep those pages easy to find and current, so they do not have to call to ask.

Visitor 3

A bulk or business buyer

Offices, event hosts and dealers want to know what you can supply, in what quantities, and how to ask for a quote that reaches the right person.

Visitor 4

Someone who wants to work with you

Good staff look you up too. A short careers note and real photographs of your team and premises help the right people apply.

What a finished site looks like

Three directions for three kinds of small business, each as a plain wireframe and as a finished design. The brands are fictional; the structure is the one we would plan for you. Tell us in your brief which one feels closest.

The first few seconds

What a customer sees on their phone

Most first visits are short, on a phone, and often start from a map listing. In that moment the page has four jobs, in this order.

Everything else, from your story to the full service list, sits one tap below.

  1. What and whereThe service and the neighbourhood, in the first line.
  2. Open nowToday's timings, including festival and holiday changes.
  3. Proof you are realPhotographs of your premises, products or team, not stock images.
  4. One tap to actCall, WhatsApp, directions or a short enquiry form.

Working with 7 Islets

What to expect from us

Many owners have been let down before: a site nobody could update, a domain held by someone else, a developer who stopped answering. Here is what to expect instead.

  1. Plain language

No jargon in calls or documents; every decision explained in terms of customers and enquiries.

  2. Yours to own

The domain, hosting and site are in your name, and the source files are shared with you.

  3. Still here after launch

Website Care keeps timings, offers and photographs current, so the site never goes stale.

  4. One team

Design, writing support, search, social media and ads from the same people, when you need them.

What you provide

  • Your service or product list, with who each one is for
  • Opening hours, location and the areas you serve
  • Photographs you have the rights to, or time for a short shoot
  • The questions customers ask most often

We turn these into the plan for your first page and decide what needs a page of its own.

Common mistakes we help small businesses avoid

  • Listing services without saying who each one is for
  • Hiding the phone number on the contact page
  • Stock photographs instead of your real shop, team or work
  • Timings and offers left unchanged after a festival season

Each one sends a ready customer to the next result.

FAQ

Planning and scope

I already have a Google Business Profile. Do I still need a website?

Yes, the two work together. Your profile gets you seen on the map; your website answers the questions that decide the visit, and it is a page you control.

Can you rebuild the website I already have?

Yes. We look at what brings enquiries today, keep what works and plan the new site around how customers find you now.

Can we start with one page and add more later?

Yes. Brochure suits one focused page; when you add services or want articles, the site grows into Business + Blog as a change to your statement of work.

Do you work with businesses outside Mumbai?

Yes. Calls and reviews happen online, so we work with businesses across India and in Australia.

Content and design

I do not have good photographs. What then?

We give you a short shot list for a good phone, or scope a photography session. Until then we use clearly labelled placeholders, never someone else's shop.

Who writes the content?

Writing support can be added to the scope: send rough notes or a voice message and a consultant turns them into page copy for your approval.

Can I show prices on the site?

Yes, if you want to. Some businesses show a price list; others prefer an enquiry. We plan the page around what you choose.

Running the site

Can I update timings and offers myself?

Yes, if you choose a setup with simple editing; otherwise Website Care makes the changes for you. We agree which way before the build.

Can customers order or book on the site?

Yes. Online ordering, appointments or batch bookings are part of the Advanced plan, agreed as a defined feature in your statement of work.

Do I need my own domain and hosting?

Yes, in your name. We help you choose and set them up if needed; the accounts and their fees stay with you.

What if I want to change something after launch?

Small changes are part of Website Care. Larger changes, such as a new section or feature, are scoped and agreed before work starts.
